On April 17th, 2018 at approximately 1:00pm Cuba Police arrested Stacy L. Ward (25) of Cuba. Ward was processed and charged with endangering the welfare of a child (misdemeanor). Ward was placed in front of a Cuba Town Justice and sent to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $500.00 bail. Ward is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On April 13th at approximately 6:45pm with the assistance of the Olean Police Department,Cuba Police arrested Rodney D. Doran (28) of Buffalo. Doran was arrested and charged with criminal possession of marihuana 4th (misdemeanor) and violation of parole. Doran was processed and sent to the Allegany County Jail on a violation of New York State Parole. Doran is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
On April 12th at approximately 1:00pm Cuba Police arrested Phyllis M. Jackson (56) of Olean. Jackson was arrested at the Erie County Holding Center after being released. Jackson was processed on a bench warrant from the Cuba Town Court and placed in the Allegany County Jail on $255.00 bail for an unpaid fine.
The Town of Cuba Police Department has a policy in effect for social media. Part of that policy states that any content or comment made by any member of the public on our social media site is subject to review and public record. Any member of the public that engages in profanity, negative racial slurs, negative ethnic slurs, negative gender slurs or any comment that is threatening in nature will be documented and saved on file. The person or persons making such comments will be banned from the Cuba Police Department social media outlet and their comments will be documented, saved on file and removed from our social media site. The purpose of our social media site is to endorse the secure use and to enhance communication, collaboration, information exchange, streamline processes and foster productivity. Social media provides a new and potentially valuable means of assisting the department in meeting community outreach, problem solving, investigations, crime prevention and public office transparency. Going forward please be wary of your comments and how you conduct yourself on our page so that you or your comments are not removed. Our goal is to keep the public informed of crimes, events and other things happening in our community as well as build our relationship and transparency with the entire public we serve.
Following a report of a domestic dispute in the Village on April 10th at approximately 11:50pm,Cuba Police arrested April M. Baldwin (31) of Cuba. Baldwin was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct (violation),criminal mischief 4th (misdemeanor),endangering the welfare of a child (misdemeanor) and resisting arrest (misdemeanor). Baldwin was processed and sent to the Allegany County Jail on $2000.00 bail. These charges stem from an alleged domestic incident in which Baldwin did throw a brick into the victims vehicle causing damage and did spit several times on responding police officers. Baldwin is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
