Westchester County is located next to Manhattan Island in the State of New York. It is the second most populated county on the mainland of New York (after the Bronx) and the most populated county north of New York City. At the 2010 census, the county had a population of 949,113 which has increased to 980,244 by 2017. It is situated in the Hudson Valley, and the county seat is White Plains. The most populated city in the county is Yonkers with 200,807 residents. The annual income in Westchester County is the fifth highest in New York State and the 47th highest in the US. The county was founded in 1683.

Westchester County New York Sheriff Information
The Westchester County Sheriff’s Office patrols an area of 500 square miles of which 69 square miles is water. The Office protects approximately 980,244 citizens, and that number is rising. The Sheriff’s Office was merged with the Westchester County Parkway Police in 1979 and covers county parks, parkway, and facilities. The Patrol division assists Westchester county’s municipal police agencies including motor vehicle stop and searches, emergency crowd control and DWI checkpoints. The PSD also includes security for the main campus of Westchester Community College, the county jail and the New York Medical College. There is also a communications unit, crash reduction unit, and park rangers. Investigative services and crime analysis unit assist the county in a variety of units. Two hundred forty-seven officers are considered sheriff’s deputies who work with other agencies.

Visitation, Money, Mail, and Calls
Visits are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Inmates are allowed two visitors per visit and allowed two, one-hour visits per week. Visitors must have a valid picture ISD and will be monitored. Visits are between the hours of 9:00 am and 4:30 pm based on the first letter of an inmate’s last name.

Money can be deposited in the inmate’s account at the Jail lobby for male and female inmate Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. You may leave money with the officer at POST 1 near the visitor gate daily from 5-9 pm.
