Cattaraugus County, New York Jail Information

The Cattaraugus County Jail is a maximum security 150 bed facility. It houses sentenced and un-sentenced male and female prisoners plus ages 16-18 minor prisoners. The facility is both linear bar sections and dorm/direct supervision pods. There is one correction captain, a corrections lieutenant, and five correction sergeants. Rank and file officers include 37 full time and 15 part-time corrections officers.

Visitation, Money, Mail and Calls

Visiting hours are:
Tuesday and Fridays 11:45 am to 3:45 pm and 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Visitors are required to present a picture ID. Visitors under age 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. There is a strict dress code for visitation rights, this includes no shorts, capris, dresses, shirts or revealing tops. Cattaraugus County, New York Information

Cattaraugus Cunty is located in the western part of New York and one side borders Pennsylvania. The 2010 census indicated the population was 80,317. The county seat is Little Valley. The county was founded on March 28, 1817 and is named for the Seneca Indian word for “bad smelling banks” or the odor of natural gas leaking from rock seams.
The county is governed by legislators elected to conduct business. There are 17 members elected form 8 legislative districts.
