The sheriff’s office does warn that if you have a warrant, you may contact the issuing court for information or appear at the issuing court to have the matter resolved. If you have information regarding a wanted person, you may call the NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force Syracuse Office at 4773-7625.

Onondaga County New York Jail Information

The Onondaga County Justice Center (Patrick J. Corbett Justice Center) is a direct-supervision maximum security facility. It is designed with state of the art technology. The corrections center opened on April 3, 1995. There are no bars on the cell doors, but technology prevents escape. The jail can hold 516 inmates and has a staff of about 210 employees.

Visitation, Money, Mail, and Calls
Visitors must register at the Justice Center, no phone registrations for visits will be accepted. Visits are first come first served basis by taking a number. Visitors are allowed only one visit per day.

Contact visits:
From 3:30 p to 10:30 pm on the following days:
Monday 2nd and 3rd floors
Tuesday 4th and 5th floors
Wednesday 2 and 3rd floor
Thursday 4th & 5th Floors
Friday All Floors

Secure Visits:
7 days a week from 7:30 am – 8:30 am / 9:30 am – 10:30 am / 1:30 pm 2:30 pm
Saturday & Sunday from 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm

Only two persons are allowed to visit at one time. No split visits are allowed, and all personal property will be stored in the provided lockers. Dress appropriately and show proper ID. At no time will an inmate be permitted to hold a child. For additional rules and regulations contact the jail.

Onondaga County is located in the center of New York State. As of the 2010 census, the population was 467,06, and the county seat is Syracuse. The name of the county comes from the name of the Native American tribe who lived in this area at the time of European contact. The word means People of the Hills. Onondaga County was founded in 1794. The county is situated within 350 miles of all major cities in the northeast.
