Livingston County New York Sheriff Information

The Sheriff’s Office patrols an area of 640 square miles of which 8.5 square miles is water. The Office protects 65,393 citizens. Law enforcement must respect the people that we serve. When we all work together and keep the lines of communication open, we can achieve our primary common goal of public safety.
The Patrol Division includes a captain and five sergeants and 32 full-time and 28 part-time deputies. The criminal investigations department include one captain, five investigators and one identification sergeant.

Livingston County New York Jail Information

The Livingston County Jail provides a safe and secure facility staffed by highly trained and motivated deputies and civilian staff. The staff consists of a Chief Deputy, a deputy superintendent, administrative sergeant and court security sergeant. There are 47 full time correction office, part-time corrections officers, four full-time and six part-time civilian employees.

Visitation, Money, Mail and Calls

Money can be dropped off for an inmate at the jail facility.
Mail needs to be sent to an inmate via the US Postal Service and addressed as follows:

Visits will be scheduled in an appointment type fashion to create order within the facility. Walk in visits will be accommodated if possible. Inmates are committed to two one hour visit per week with family or friends. Visitors must produce proper identification.

Livingston County, New York Information

Livingston County is located in the east central portion of New York. As of the 2010 census the population was 65,393 and the county seat is Geneseo. The county is named after Robert R. Livingston who helped draft the Declaration of Independence and negotiated the Louisiana Purchase.
The County Administrator’s Office is directly responsible to the Board of Supervisors for the overall administration of county government and the coordination of daily operations.
