Oneida County New York Jail Information

The Oneida County Correctional Facility has existed in Oneida county for over 200 years. The current facility was renovated and enlarged in 1996-1998. The capacity of the jail is 634 inmates. There is also 35 beds for federal prisoners who are being transported through the country. Modular pods and electronic doors have replaced bars and bass keys.

Visitation, Money, Mail, and Calls

To visit an inmate at the Oneida County Jail, you must present the proper identification, but over 16 years old and have the proper identification. Inmates are allowed 2 one hours visits each visitation week. An inmate can only receive one visit per day, however. There are no more than two visitors allowed to visit an inmate at one time. Visits are generally contact visits.
Visiting Hours are:
Tuesday through Friday
7:30 am, 9:00 am, 10:15 am, 12:15 pm, and 1:30 pm.
There are visits on Saturday with time slots of 10:30 am, 12:15 pm, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 4:45 pm
No visits on Sundays or Mondays.

Oneida County, New York Information

Oneida County is located in the central area of New York State. At the 2010 census, the population was 234,878, and the county seat is Utica. The name is in honor of the Oneida one of the Five Nations of the Iroquois. The county was founded in 1798. The Erie Canal completed in 1825 runs east-west along the Mohawk River through the county.
